About Me

Tammy L. Wright, MS, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

With over 17 years experience with individuals and families, and as a graduate of Texas A & M University-Commerce, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are working with women and men experiencing Depression, Anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

In addition to being a prominent individual and family therapist, Tammy Wright, MS., LPC is an experienced presenter, providing Continuing Education Units to other professionals, such as Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and other Licensed Professional Counselors, throughout the United States. She has been a speaker and teacher to general audiences speaking on the topics of various therapeutic methodologies, including Working with Mandated Clients, Solution Focused Therapy, Sexual Health In the Elderly, Sexual Abuse models of Therapy, and Play Therapy.

Tammy L. Wright, MS, LPC is an interactive, Solution-focused and Cognitive Behavioral therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges, explore and assist clients in processing history of abuse, identifying and challenging cognitive distortions, that many people experience, due to trauma histories. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has been licensed by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. My license number is 5478.

I am also a TRICARE CERTIFIED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR, which means I have met all Tricare requirements, including the passing of the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Exam (NCMHCE), to be able to effectively work with our servicemen and women, as well as their families.

Additional Training

As an LPC, additional training is extremely important, is ongoing and is also a requirement of license renewal.
